Sunstone Metals announced that drilling continues to provide "strong evidence" that its Limon deposit in Ecuador "is a major high-grade gold and silver discovery."
The mineralization is said to "extend down from the surface to a great depth, uncontrolled in all directions", and was reported on the 15th to be 42 meters at a depth of 152 meters, with a gold equivalent grade of 3.9 g/t.
The Limon deposit is considered a strategic location for Sunstone's high-grade open pit targeted for a 10 million ounce project.
"As drilling continues at Bramaderos, we still believe we can find 10 million ounces of resources within 4 kilometers," Sunstone said.
The Limon deposit is located 2.7 km northeast of the Brama-Alba-Melonal copper-gold deposit, a porphyry deposit with an estimated gold equivalent resource of 2.7 million ounces and exploration targets of 3.3 million ounces to 8.6 million ounces.
