New progress in exploration for copper-gold deposits in Parma, Ecuador
2023 09/22
Sunstone Metals has made new progress on its El Palmar copper-gold project in northern Ecuador. The second hole in the T3 target area was found at a depth of 918 m with a deposit of 295 m and a gold equivalent grade of 0.51 g/t, including mineralization 26 m thick and a gold equivalent grade of 0.96 g/t, confirming the existence of a large porphyry metallogenic system.
The revised magnetic model showed that two holes drilled at the edge of the target validated to be at least 120 m wide and possibly up to 700 m wide, located in a circular target area with a diameter of 1.5 km and being part of a porphyritic group with a strike extension length greater than 2.5 km.
The Toachi fault that runs along the exploration area controls the nearby Lluimagua and Alpala copper-gold discoveries.
